Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Public speaking competitions in primary schools give students a valuable opportunity to develop confidence, clear communication, and leadership skills. These events usually involve students preparing and delivering a short speech on a given topic or one of their own choice.
Competitions often include class-level rounds, followed by school finals, and in some cases, regional or district competitions. Students are judged on criteria such as speech structure, clarity, expression, eye contact, pace, and audience engagement.
These competitions encourage students to think critically, organise their ideas, and express themselves confidently in front of an audience. They are a wonderful way to nurture future leaders and help students build lifelong communication skills.
Creative and performing arts
The Central Coast Choral Festival is an annual celebration of music that brings together primary and secondary school choirs from across the Central Coast. Students participate in workshops, rehearsals, and a series of performances that showcase their vocal skills, teamwork, and love of singing. Held at the Wyong Art House, the festival provides a wonderful opportunity for young performers to experience the excitement of singing as part of a large combined choir, connect with students from other schools, and shine on a professional stage.
Trips and excursions
Year 4 had a brilliant time on their overnight excursion to Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre.
Two fun-filled days of archery, raft making, quick swim, bush walking, campfire and damper making. It was a great experience for their first school camp!
